Funding for Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service extended to 2027

The Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service (GHWS) has had funding confirmed initially up until 2027. The service will remain a source of care and support for the community.

NHS England has confirmed funding for The Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service (GHWS). This funding confirmation means the service will remain a vital source of care and support for bereaved families, survivors, and the wider community right through to and beyond the 10-year anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire, that will be in June 2027.

Continuation of the service

The service is important in the healing journey of the community and ensures stability and continuity at a time when reassurance matters most. While longer term national decisions about funding beyond 2027 are still to come, we hope this clarity brings comfort and confidence to all bereaved, survivors, residents and our wider community members.

The service, provided by Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL), offers a range of free, confidential support including talking therapies, trauma and bereavement support, outreach, and help for children and young people.

The extension aims to ensure that the community continues to receive stable, long-term care while wider decisions are made about future health and wellbeing services.

Working together on the future of support

From now until the 10-year anniversary, the NHS wants to work alongside the community to shape what mental health support should look like in the years ahead. This will not be a one-off consultation. Instead, there will be a range of opportunities for the bereaved, survivors, the community and partner organisations to share what matters to all.

These conversations will help ensure that the lessons, truths and wisdom from the past eight and a half years are fully embedded across the NHS, forming a legacy that reflects the community’s calls for safety, justice and meaningful change.

The NHS will offer different ways to take part so people can choose what feels most comfortable and safe.

How to stay involved

Information about upcoming conversations and ways to share your views will be available on the NHS website and social media channels. There will also be an online space where you can share your thoughts at any time about the future of NHS mental health support for the Grenfell community.
