Accessing healthcare services during the bank holiday period

Over the Christmas and New Year Bank Holiday Days, some GP surgeries and pharmacies will be closed, or operating reduced opening hours. You can still find support for your health needs by referring to these services. We advise you to check the services' opening hours and to plan ahead.

Using NHS 111

If you have a health concern, contact your GP practice, or use the NHS 111 online service for quick health advice. If you’re unable to get online, call 111.

If you think you need urgent dental treatment, contact your dentist. If you cannot contact your dentist or don’t have one, use the NHS 111 online service. If needed, an urgent appointment will be arranged at an out-of-hours service.

For emergencies: call 999 or go to A&E for life-threatening situations (for instance stroke, heart attack, severe bleeding).
